Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv is known as “the city that never stops” and it definitely justifies the powerful title that it has received.
You will be able to find almost everything there, a spacious and beautiful beach, places of lively entertainment in almost every corner of every street that are open at any time that is good for you, much culture, museums and artistic activities, the unique architecture of the White City, beautiful green avenues for pleasant bike rides, excellent food of every type you could want, a colourful and vibrant market and many good musical performances.

The first of the Jews who constructed houses outside of the walls of Jaffa were the Yemenites who built the neighbourhood which would become known as the “Yemenite Vineyard”. Gradually more and more new neighbourhoods came into being, neighbourhoods such as Shabazi, Mahane Yosef, Neve Zedek and more established themselves outside out the borders of Jaffa. The founding of the town took place in 1909. After the United Nation’s declaration of the State of Israel in 1947 disturbances broke out in Tel Aviv.
In 1948 Ben Gurion declared the independence of the State of Israel at the Tel Aviv Museum in the Rothschild Boulevard.

Tel Aviv is the second largest city in Israel with about 400,000 residents. The city represents the center of finance, culture and media in Israel. The weather in Tel Aviv is as befits a city on the shores of the Mediterranean: in winter cool and wet and in the summer warm and humid.
However the relatively comfortable weather enables visits during almost all the months of the year. Israel’s international airport is known as “Ben Gurion” and incoming flights land there.
There is another airport in Tel Aviv called Sdeh Dov, and it serves for internal flights. There are also two bus companies operating in the city – Dan and Egged – and a train which crosses the entire length of the city.
In addition there are many available taxis for any traveller who wishes one. The Dan company tourism buses can take you for a trip through the interesting tourism sites in Tel Aviv.
There are many restaurants in Tel Aviv and you will be able to find almost anything that you wish, starting from expensive gourmet restaurants and up to inexpensive falafel stands which is usually eaten standing up near to the stand.

When you reach Tel Aviv you will be able to visit Rabin Square, formerly Malachei Israel Square.

At the Square you will find a monument to the memory of the Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin, who was murdered in 1995 in this place.
We recommend that you also visit the National Habimah Museum, which has undergone a massive renovation and you should not miss checking out this impressive building.
Another attraction in Tel Aviv is the green lung of the city, the Yarkon Park located in the northern part of the city which represents a comfortable refuge from the commotion of the city.

The Carmel Market in the south of the city will supply you with a dose of colourfulness that you need.
Music lovers will be able to find many performances in the city, the biggest club, the Barbi, has performances almost every evening, mostly Israeli rock.
The rich and diverse night life in this city has made it a magnet for young people.
You will be able to find clubs and pubs that are open until the following morning.
